Restaurant and Bar

Our Restaurant offers a wide range of Western, Vietnamese and other Asian dishes, a la Carte or buffet as required, e.g. for groups. There are many “praying days” in this area and each is celebrated with a particularly sumptuous feast consisting of the large variety of specialities of the region. If you are here for a family ancestor praying day you are indeed lucky as this is the time of the most amazing banquets.

We go to great lengths to provide fresh local and imported ingredients in order that your stay be as pleasurable as possible. We have lived in Dubai, Thailand and Australia over the past few years and Bich has incorporated the culinary ideas from these countries into her cooking.

The two chefs have worked in restaurants in Saigon and Danang and under Bich’s tuition have expanded their repertoire to include the many delights that will tempt your palate, such as Pho Bo (the famous Vietnamese soup), Tom Yum Gung soup (Thai style), Pork and Prawns in Clay Pot, Thai beef salad and chicken and lemon grass.

Western dishes are available including beef stew, potato pie and even Aussie meat pies. And yes we do keep vegemite, Promite and Breakfast cereals.

The Sundowners Bar features:
  • A well stocked bar offering a wide range of cocktails, imported wines and cold beer (a rarity around these parts).
  • Wide verandas at the front and back of the restaurant and bar which are the perfect place to gaze at the brilliant Indochina sun dropping behind the rugged karst mountains on its descent towards the Laotian border. Relax, and reminisce about the day’s adventures.
  • A full size pool table.
  • An inground plunge pool in the rear courtyard.
  • Widescreen TV showing major world sporting events.
  • Free WIFI internet access.
